Do you ever wonder how much of the money you donate actually gets to the people who need it?
Well, 90 cents of every dollar raised by the Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign goes right into the hands of the African grassroots groups run by and for Grandmothers – who best know what is needed and how to provide it.
To date, over $36 million has been raised by the Campaign, and disbursed for Grandmother programs that include school supplies for children, nutrition programs, income-generating activities, health care, HIV education, home-based care, and much more.
The Grandmothers to Grandmothers USA Campaign is part of an international movement, the hub of which is in Canada, with the Stephen Lewis Foundation (SLF).
For 17 years, the SLF has been partnering with over 325 grassroots organizations on more than 1800 initiatives in the countries hardest hit by the AIDS pandemic in Africa – Botswana, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Rwanda, South Africa, Eswatini, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
All of the projects supported by the Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign are assessed and monitored for the lifetime of the project, so you know the funds are managed with intelligence, dignity and tenacity by the Grandmothers and other community-based experts at the frontlines of the AIDS pandemic in Africa.
